Pastors Mark and Janet Brazee
For more than 30 years, Pastors Mark and Janet Brazee have traveled throughout the world sharing the Word of God and the Spirit of God. Together they’ve shared the powerful truths of faith and healing in more than 50 nations.
Today Mark and Janet pastor World Outreach Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they base their ongoing outreach to the world. The Brazees still travel as the Lord leads, and they are raising up a congregation who share their passion to reach Tulsa and the world.
The couple has also founded DOMATA School of Ministry and DOMATA Advanced School of Ministry, a Bible training school for ministers, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Our History
Mark and Janet Brazee opened the doors of World Outreach Church in August 1998 in the auditorium of East Central High School. Their God-given mandate was to create a base to reach Tulsa and the world with the Word of God and the Spirit of God.
Long before the church began, Mark and Janet were already seasoned ministers who had traveled around the United States and the nations of the world for more than 20 years sharing the good news of faith and healing. Mark Brazee Ministries actually began in 1979 with Mark teaching the Word and Janet ushering in the presence of God through anointed music. In 1992, Mark and Janet began establishing a network of DOMATA Bible schools that eventually spanned the globe. Yet, the more the Brazees traveled the more they sensed God’s direction to develop a base in Tulsa that would allow them to reach even more of the world—further and faster. The plan had unfolded, and World Outreach Church was born.
By 2002 the church moved into new facilities on East Pine Street and then two years later grew into their current and permanent home on East 91st Street. Recently the church completed an expansion to accommodate their thriving congregation.
The church lovingly cares for its congregation all the while maintaining a heart for missions. Where Mark and Janet went as two before, today the church supports missions ambassadors around the world and regularly sends out congregation members on short- and long-term mission trips doing all kinds of ministry in all kinds of places.
WOC is a place you can call home—a home with a doorway to the world!
Tenets of Faith
THE SCRIPTURES
WE BELIEVE the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved on by the Holy Spirit. We accept the New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, as our infallible guide in conduct and doctrine (II Timothy 3:16; I Thessalonians 2:13; I Peter 1:23-25; II Peter 1:21).
THE VIRGIN BIRTH
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is God's Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin, Mary (Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14, 9:6; Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1:30-35, 2:21).
THE GODHEAD
WE BELIEVE there is one, true Godhead comprised of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All are co-equal and co-eternal (John 1:1, 14, 18, 10:30, 12:44-45, 15:26, 16:7-16, 27-28; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; I John 5:5-7).
MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION
WE BELIEVE that each person is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God (Genesis1:26-27). But through Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into the world. The Bible says, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" and "As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one." Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo or destroy the works of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore each person back to God (Romans; 3:23-26, 5:12-21; I John 3:8). Salvation is the gift of God to each man and woman, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7).
THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST
WE BELIEVE that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses all who believe on Him from sin and that it is by His blood that they are redeemed (Ephesians 2:13; Hebrews 9:14; I Peter 1:18-19; I John 1:7).
COMMUNION
WE BELIEVE that communion, The Lord's Supper, is the ordinance given by the Lord to commemorate the covenant relationship between God and man or woman, made possible through the shed blood of Jesus Christ (Mark 14:22-24; I Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-31).
THE NEW BIRTH AND ETERNAL LIFE
WE BELIEVE that a person’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that works repentance. It is necessary that every man and woman be born again, and when the new birth is fulfilled, eternal life is produced (John 3:3-5; II Corinthians 7:10; I John 5:11-13).
WATER BAPTISM
WE BELIEVE that baptism in water is an ordinance and a direct commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. This ordinance is a symbol of the believer's identification with Jesus Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. Our scriptural method, as found in the New Testament, is by complete immersion, calling upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:35-39, 10:47-48; Romans 6:4).
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST
WE BELIEVE that all believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and receive the promise of the Father, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:9-13), according to the command of Jesus Christ. With this comes the endowment of power for life and service and the bestowment of gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8). This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth, salvation (Acts 8:12, 14-17, 9:17, 19:1-6; I Corinthians 12:1-31). The full consummation of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is evidenced by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and by the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service (Mark 16:17; Acts 2:1-4, 10:44-47, 19:6; I Corinthians 14:1-4, 14-15, 18, 39-40).
SANCTIFICATION
WE BELIEVE that the Scriptures teach a life of sanctification and holiness without which no person shall see the Lord. By the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to obey the command, "Be ye holy, for I am holy." Entire sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God's Word (Hebrews 12:14; I Peter 1:14-19; I Thessalonians 5:23-24; I John 2:3-6, 3:1-3).
DIVINE HEALING
WE BELIEVE that healing for the physical body is provided for through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and is the privilege of every member of the body of Christ today. Healing is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith and/or by the laying on of hands (Psalms 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18; I Peter 2:24; James 5:14-15).
THE BLESSED HOPE
WE BELIEVE Jesus is coming again to gather all His saints to Heaven (I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thessalonians 4:16-17; II Thessalonians 2:1).
HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION
WE BELIEVE the one who physically dies in his or her sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire, and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms "eternal" and "everlasting" used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of the saints in the presence of God (Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:10-15, 21:1-8).
